LYDIA. Uncertain. Gamerses, Persian Satrap, early 4th century BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 12 mm, 1.23 g, 12 h). Youthful male head to right, wearing short hair with long braid, earring, and necklace. Rev. ΓAMEPΣOY Zeus standing right, holding scepter with his right hand and eagle in his left; to left, star. Klein 563. Winzer 15.1. An exceptional example, sharply struck and with a splendid green patina. Extremely fine.
